Christopher Dear
founded the Visionary Arts Collective in 2020 during the global plandemic. His aim was to bring together artists he had met over the years to exhibit collectively and unify the tribe and bring love and light during the authoritarian lockdowns. The first collective exhibition was held in October 2020 at Rook Lane Gallery in Frome called ‘2020 Vision’ and was followed by three other collective exhibitions at Silk Mill Gallery in Frome.
Chris has previously exhibited in galleries, music events and public spaces across Australia, LA, Miami, Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, China and England. He became involved with the music industry at an early stage of his career and started producing large-scale artworks and backdrops for music events. This began the journey of his art and music being intertwined.
Christopher's paintings and designs are musically synaesthetic and when exhibited with music, of all varieties, the sounds cascade though the design and resonate in the patterns. Music of all varieties is carefully selected and played alongside the artworks creating a unison of sound and vision. His painted canvases and mixed media works are adorned with gold leaf giving them reflective and illusionistic qualities. With a Modern futurist style his paintings radiate vibrancy and colour. Chris has an eco clothing range where the printed designs are derived from his artworks.
